"IMMANUEL": GOD IS WITH Us

Its the most wonderful time of the year: a time for gathering with family and friends, a time for giving and receiving, and a time to reflect on and celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus. But what exactly are we celebrating? What was the point of Jesus being born in the first place?

WEEK 1: "GOD IS WITH US THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT"

Aaron McClary - December 4, 2016

What makes Christmas so special for us as Christians is not just that God gave us the greatest gift in Jesus—although that is true—but that, through Jesus, He gave us Himself. He didn’t just give us a gift, He gave us a relationship. The greatest gift you can ever give someone is yourself; your time, your attention, your love, your commitment—and, through Jesus, that is exactly what God gave us.

WEEK 2: "GOD IS WITH US THROUGH JESUS' DEATH & RESURRECTION"

Aaron McClary - December 11, 2016

We anticipate Christmas by celebrating Easter. God is with us because Jesus died for us. Our salvation isn’t a reward for good behavior. Our salvation is a gift that we accept through faith and trust that Jesus is who He says He is and did what He said He did.

WEEK 3: "GOD IS WITH US THROUGH JESUS' Life & Ministry"

Aaron McClary - December 18, 2016

No matter what you're facing in life, if you've accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you can come to God with whatever struggles you're dealing with and be confident that He will respond with grace and mercy and help…not disinterest…not condemnation…but grace. Because, not only does He know what you're going through, but He's gone through it himself.

WEEK 4: "GOD IS WITH US THROUGH JESUS' birth"

Aaron McClary - December 24/25, 2016

For the Christian, December 26th is still Christmas. For the one who believes in Jesus, that day whenever you go back to work or back to school or back to your “normal” routine—whenever that is—that day is Christmas too. That day is every bit as much a day where you can celebrate the true meaning and message of Christmas—that God is with you!
