Join a GO!GROUP
Each year during Faith Promise we mobilize groups of volunteers to tackle service projects in coordination with our local missions partners. Here are the details for our 2018 GO!GROUPS:
September 22nd (9am-12pm) - AgriStewards: Roll up drip tape irrigation lines, dig sweet potatoes & plant a cover crop with missionary Brian Smith at Lamb Farms in Lebanon, IN. No special skills are required, only a willing heart to serve. The team will be departing from MCC at 7:00am and stopping at Skyline for lunch on our return. We will be back at MCC approximately 3pm. Bring a good pair of work gloves and money for lunch. Tools will be provided. Contact Jon Rice with questions at (260) 224-0302.
September 27th (5:30pm-8pm) - Karing For Kids: Angel Tree Work Day at MCC. Prepare paper angel ornaments for the giving trees that go to area businesses, churches and schools. This is a perfect project for most ages and for those unable to stand and work. If you like a more relaxed atmosphere, this GO!Group is for you!
September 29th (8am-12pm) - Community Care of Wells County: Projects at Grace & Mercy Transitional Housing in Bluffton (1001 Clark Avenue). Exterior building block wall repair of loose mortar, painting of rows of block added for the new roof. Preparation for electrical work in unfinished interior area. Special skills are not required, but those knowledgeable in concrete block repair and electrical work are encouraged to participate. Painting is on exterior walls and will need to be done from a ladder. Ladders are needed. Paint and materials will be provided.
October 6th (9am–12pm) - Woodburn Christian Children’s Home: Installing shelving to concrete block in the basement of the Angel House & doing odd jobs around the property (24902 Notestine Rd, Woodburn). No special skills are required, only a willing heart to serve. Tools for drilling concrete block and attaching shelving brackets are welcomed. Contact Mike Duggan with questions at (260) 758-2171.
October 6th (8:30am-12:30pm) - Lake James Christian Camp & Retreat Center: All work is at the property located at 1880 W 275 N, Angola. Move a section of privacy fence & clear some trees to expand the FLC parking. Other projects may include staining and indoor cleaning projects. Lunch is provided at the camp at 12:30pm. Bring work gloves. If you want to cut trees you will need to bring your saw.
October 11th (5:30pm-8pm) - Karing For Kids: Angel Tree Work Day at MCC (see description above)
October 13th (4pm-8:30pm) - Woodburn Christian Children’s Home: Annual Fund Raising Auction. Come and enjoy community silent & live auctions in support of the children’s home. Silent auction and free will donation dinner begins at 4pm. The live auction begins at 5pm. This is the main fundraising event for the home. Come prepared to give from your heart. The event is at the Woodburn Community Center, 22651 Main Street, Woodburn.
